SUMMARY The Labor & Employment Compliance Specialist role manages projects related to labor and employment (L&E) compliance from initiation to completion. Additionally, this role provides key support to internal and external counsel on L&E-related litigation, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. This position reports to the company's L&E attorney(s) within the legal department. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage L&E compliance projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project metrics and goals (20%) Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of current compliance programs and recommend improvements (15%) Develop risk management strategies related to L&E compliance and implement corrective actions as needed (10%) Regularly review and provide guidance to Human Resources on policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.(10%) Design and implement L&E compliance training programs for employees, managers, and Human Resources.(10%) Coordinate with in-house and external counsel on discovery requests, witness interviews, file maintenance, and document production. (10%) Respond to employee personnel file requests, subpoenas and other legal process concerning employees..(10%) Develop, manage, and report appropriate metrics on L&E compliance and litigation matters (including administrative charges, demand letters, and arbitrations) (10%). Perform related duties as assigned by the company's L&E attorney(s)(5%). QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelor's degree in law, human resources, business, or related field. 7+ years' experience in legal project management, HR compliance, or related field Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work with others in a team environment. Analytical skills along with strong desire to solve business problems. Ability to manage confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility. Ability to work closely with cross functional partners to ensure cohesive and comprehensive L&E compliance efforts. Proven ability to exercise independent and discretionary judgment on significant compliance matters. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite A Juris Doctor (JD), paralegal certificate, or equivalent legal qualification preferred. Proficiency in Legal Files, Relativity, and other common litigation tools. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
